Ponte Vedra Inn & Club

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

The historic Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, stretched along the sparkling Atlantic coastline, has been a northeast Florida landmark since its celebrated opening in 1928. Located in the tony seaside village of Ponte Vedra Beach, just 20 miles southeast of Jacksonville, this AAA Five-Diamond-rated oceanfront resort has faithfully served three generations of guests with sophisticated charm and award-winning hospitality.

Palm trees, sand dunes and the surf serve as dramatic backdrop for 250 luxurious rooms and suites, most enjoying breathtaking Atlantic Ocean views.  The beautiful interiors combine exquisite furnishings, rich fabrics and classic details to create an atmosphere of sheer indulgence.

Just steps from the Atlantic, the Inn & Club offers two picturesque and challenging 18-hole courses, each with its own distinct seaside links flavor.  A dazzling array of water hazards, steeped-faced bunkers, undulating fairways and elevated Bermuda greens combine with ocean breezes to create every kind of shot-making challenge imaginable. All fourteen clubs are required here!

Inspired by traditional Scottish-links design, the 6,573 yard, par-72 Ocean Course is a true masterpiece of beauty, strength and strategy. Designed in 1928 by famed British architect Herbert Bertram Strong, it is the area’s first resort course.  The course’s signature hole is the par 3, 157-yard 9th, which is thought to be the first-ever island green.

Ponte Vedra’s second test of golf is the Lagoon Course, a 6,055-yard par 70 masterpiece created by two design geniuses—Robert Trent Jones (‘61) and Joe Lee (‘77). In 2007, renowned course architect Bobby Weed fully restored and enhanced the layout, adding both character and challenge to the golf experience.  The course, although not especially long, places a premium on accurate drives and thoughtful approaches.

Blessed with year-round sunshine and a pleasant climate to match, Ponte Vedra is a favorite choice among sporting enthusiasts.  Pleasures include the Atlantic surf, beach, golf, tennis, gym and pools. Additionally, biking, fishing, sailing and horseback riding combine to create a recreational paradise.  A luxurious spa, the region’s largest, features an impressive selection of more than one hundred beauty and pampering services.

Great resorts are often defined by great dining experiences.  From the elegant sophistication of classic cuisine, to the casualness of traditional fare, Ponte Vedra’s four restaurants cater to a variety of tastes and moods in distinctive and imaginative locations. A retail promenade delights shopping enthusiasts with several gift shops, sportswear boutiques and an art gallery.

Time honored and steeped in 80 years of tradition, the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club successfully combines award-winning lodging, amenities and activities with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
